Aerosmith f*%#ing ROCKS...

Saturday night, Frank and I went to see Aerosmith in Philly.
It was the first time that just the 2 of us have gone away for the night without the kids.
The first time in 4 years that we've been away with any kids with us.
And let me tell you, it was so worth it.
But don't get me wrong, i missed my kids an hour after we left the house...
But Aerosmith helped me with that, hehehe.
I love, love, love them, and this was by far their best concert ever!!

Seriously the best show ever.
Even Frank said so,
and he is a big ol' country boy, lol!

Too much?!

So today the NCAA imposed it's punishments on Penn State.
~$60 million dollar fine
~No bowl games or post season play for 4 years
~10 less scholarships a year for 4 years
~Vacate all wins from 1998-2011
~5 year probation for athletics
Now, i am, by NO MEANS, a Penn State fan. Those of you that know me know that.
But i definately think that these punishments are a bit ridiculous.
I'm not saying that nothing should have happened.
There were some very serious crimes committed there, and those people should have to pay for them.
Note, i said THOSE PEOPLE, and not the innocent people that are there now.
These penalties don't affect Curley, Spanier, Sanduskey, or any of the guilty parties.
They basically could care less.
This hurts the players and coaches that are there now and had no knowledge of any of these things, and it hurts the kids that wanted to be there in the future.
No top recruit is going to want to go to Penn State now, knowing that they won't be able to play in any bowl games, no Big Ten Championship, no national title, nothing for 4 years.
That, in turn, will hurt all the other sports.
Football, as much as some people hate this fact, supports all the other sports at their respective schools.
The money they get from TV and post season play helps support other teams that don't bring in as much money.
And all this could have an impact on the academics...bringing in less people to the school.
I can't recall a day in my life where i felt bad for Penn State.
Being a Notre Dame fan, i think it's in my blood to not like them.
But this is going too far i think.
What happened in those showers and in Sanduskey's basement did not affect what happened on the football field.
It didn't give anybody any super powers or any behind the scenes looks at the other teams game plans.
Those kids played their hearts out, and as wrong as Joe Pa is in all this, he coached his heart out...and none of that had anything to do with rape.
And now, all those wins are gone.
And there are many people out there saying "If it was your kid that was a victim in all this, you would be happy about all this".
Not me.
How does punishing future football players at Penn State help your kid at all in this situation?
If it were my child, i would want the people involved and the people that covered it up to be punished, not people that probably had no idea who Jerry Sanduskey even was before this broke.
Don't get me wrong, i think those victims should have their redemption, just not in this way.
As a football fan, i am disgusted in this ruling.
Fine the school, take down Joe Pa's statue, put guilty parties in jail, put guilty parties out in State College to be ridiculed and stoned, just don't impose punishments that have nothing to do with the crimes, on people that had nothing to do with the crimes.
Penn State, i dont like you, but i do feel bad for you!

Day trip...

Today we took a day trip to Lake Tobias, our local wildlife park.
It was overcast today, with a chance of rain, so it was the perfect day to be out.
We weren't hot and sweaty, the animals weren't too overly hot, and it wasn't too sunny.
We packed a picinic lunch, and after lunch we headed out into the park.
We started on the safari.
The girls LOVED it!
Mady feeding some of the wildlife
Em was yelling at the animals to "come here"
Posing with the animals crackers
Em, who was having a blast throwing popcorn to the animals
Then we made our way around to all the exhibits...
the lions, the tigers, the bears (oh my!)
Note the large hungry lion in the background Petting the llamma
the birds, the reptiles,
(look how scared she was)
the petting zoo...
The girls petting the goat
Em was love love LOVING the goats!
Em really really loved those goats...like, i thought she might give one a kiss!
Mady feeding the pony some popcorn
Holding the baby goat
