Growing girls...

Today both the girls had their respective doctors appointments.
Mady had her 3 year and Em had her 6 month.

Mady is 38 1/2" tall and weighs in at a staggering (lol) 33lbs 2oz.
The doctor said she seems like she will be at least as tall as i am, if not taller, and she will be all leg like i am too.

Em is 25 3/4" tall and weighs in at a stagger (a little less lol since she is my sumo bug) 15lbs 14oz. It's very funny, because when Mady had her 6 month, she was 14lbs 2oz. It just goes to show you that Em likes her food, just like her mommy :)

Both girls got the flu vaccine today.
I'm not a huge advocate of the flu shot/spray, but i figure that since both girls go to daycare twice a week, it's probably a good idea to get since i'm sure colds and sicknesses go around quite a bit. But once they get a bit older, we are going to not get the flu shot/spray anymore. I don't get it and i only get sick once or twice a year. And oddly enough, i know people that DO get the vaccine and are sick all the time. I guess it's just a personal preference. To each their own!

What have we been up to...

Let's see, what have we been up to in the past 2 weeks...
Wow, has it really been 2 weeks already?!
Sometimes i don't know where the time goes!
So we had Mady's 3rd birthday party on the 8th, and it was tons of fun.
It was really nice out, so pretty much everyone was outside, and of course Mady was running people ragged. Em, she just wanted to be held and nap on people.
Mady got so much nice stuff, and it was so nice to have all our friends and family around to celebrate with us. We want to share and extra special thank you to everyone who came to share that memory with us, and for all the wonderful things that you all got Mady. We are so blessed to have each one of you in our lives.
We had a ton of rain days lately. And you all know what that means...playing inside!
So we've been playing tons of games and working on Mady learning to write her letters. And, thanks to the DVDs that my mom got her, Mady now also knows what sound each letter says.
We've also been playing a ton of dress up, thanks to the awesome clothes and princess gear that a few people got for her. The only bad thing is, she is mad that mommy doesn't fit into her dress up clothes...and darn, i'm sad too...or not!
This past week, the girls and I got sick. Mady was sick for about 2 weeks and is just starting to break out of it. Em was only sick for about 3 days (thank god), and mommy was sick for about a week and is finally breaking out of it too. Good thing Frank has a tough immune system...3 sick people in the house and he came out with only a stuffy sinus for 2 days, lucky dog!
This past Saturday, we took the girls to Rohrbach's farm for the morning.
They have hay rides, corn mazes, a playland, pony rides, a corn sandbox, a bouncy house, and tons of yummy food (including apple dumplings)
Em got in the corn sandbox for a while and played around. I'm amazed she didn't try to eat the corn!
I've decided that instead of a sandbox for the girls, i was a corn box. We'll see if Frank lets that one happen. Who says you have to fill those turtles with sand?! And heck, maybe i could even find something bigger!!
And yes, don't get mad yet...i will be uploading pictures from our recent activities within the next few days, once i get them off the camera and onto the computer.
