< hangs head in disbelie f>

Yup, you read that right.
I'm just calling this post
Why, you may ask?!
Beacause i just had my first real "Holy Shit, i'm old" moment.
You would think by now i would have had one of these already.
I mean, afterall, i am married with 2 kids.
But i never really felt old before.
There are people that get married anywhere from their teens to their 40s now a days.
And there are women that have babies as young as 15 and as old as, well, in their 50s!
But here i sit, depressed and feeling old.
I'm at the school, giving the ImPact tests to the athletes.
I was fine up until today.
But i'm testing the 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams today.
And as they are finishing up their tests, they print out a confirmation with their basic info on it for my records.
Well, i got the first one off the printer, i looked down at it and thats when it happened...
These girls were born the same year that i was a senior in high school.
It was like someone punched me in the gut.
I have a friend that i graduated with that has a son that is in 7th grade.
7th grade!
I could be these girls MOM!!!!!
Their MOM!!
Holy shit!

Caffine buzz...

Being at the school from 8am to 9pm is really starting to give me a headache.
And no, it's not just from the kids.
I need my caffine fix during the day, and i'm not getting it here.
I've been trying to be really good,
you know, setting a good example for the kids.
I've been drinking tons and tons of water here at work.
But after a day or two, i am CRAVING a coke!
My head even starts to hurt.
So i have to try to make it a point to bring one everyday and keep them in my fridge so i can have my fix.
Man, saying that makes me feel like a junky.
Well, i guess i am...a caffine junkie!

I was on my way home the other day and they were doing one of those questions on the radio where they have tons of people call in and weigh in with their suggestions/responses.
The question i heard was this:
"Would you give up your cell phone to your waitress for your whole meal (not getting it back until you get your check) in exchange for a 5-10% discount off your bill.
There are a few restaurants doing this because they feel people aren't connecting at dinner like they should be, what with texting and internet on phones and such, and they think this will solve the problem.
There were people for and against it, and every side had good arguments.
For me personally, i wouldn't want to.
I don't normally talk on my phone or text during meals anyway.
And to me, if i'm with my family i don't have time to check my phone anyway...
And if, on the slim chance, it's only Frank and I,
i feel like i want my phone right with me in case of emergency at home.
Yes, i know people would know where we were eating and they could call there, but it's a long "all the way around" process, and in an emergency time is of the essence.
What do you think? Would you give it up or no?

Squishy baff time...

Today we tried out a new product i just bought that i saw on tv and just had to have...
Squishy Baff!
It's the greatest product EVER for kids!
You fill the bathtub with about 8 gallons of water.
Then, you add the #1 packet (the gel packet)
You wait 5-10 minutes and BAM...
you get gel!!
Hours of fun for the kids...
As you can see...
I wanted to jump in the tub myself, it was that cool...
It really was like jello...
They stayed in the tub for over an hour!
Then, when you're done, you just stir in the #2 packet
and BAM, 5-10 minutes later it's water again!
Then you just rinse the kids and the tub off (because if your kids are like my kids, there was lots of splashing, throwing, flinging, and squishing)
And when the tub is empty you just rinse any leftover residue down the drain and you're done!
Now that i know what a huge hit this stuff is, i think i'm gonna stock up on it so i have it for special occasions and rainy days.
They have different colors too...we have the green (pictured) and red, but they also have blue and purple!!

Camp week strikes again...

So here we are,
camp weeks again.
No more summer vacation.
No more sleeping in (well, with 2 kids, it's never really sleeping in...but no alarm clock at least)
No more swimming all day.
No more playing in the yard.
Its back to work.
And here i am, on day 2 already.
You would think i would be happy.
Woo hoo, 1 day down and only 10 more to go!!
But no.
These 2 days have been ridiculous already!
Saturday night my throat started to hurt,
and by Monday morning i have a nice little head cold and i sound like a frog.
So that makes everything even better!
Let's start with monday, where my great days begin...
First, my alarm didn't go off.
Then, it took me longer than i expected to get my lunch and everyone's dinner together.
Then the road i normally take to work was closed for construction, so i had to back track past my house and go the other way.
Then i got behind a dump truck that was following a tractor trailor!
So needless to say, i was late for work.
And of course, the ONE DAY i am late, i am needed in the morning.
And it couldn't have been by just a nobody, it HAD to be my bosses bosses daughter.
GREAT!!
Then i had to spend the day bouncing between practices and trying to figure out how to make our ImPact concussion tests work...which was a task in itself because my internet access didn't let me view the pages i needed to view to get access to the test, and the IT person who could give me access to that stuff was off for the day.
Hooray!
I was so ready for yesterday to be over.
Then today, of course, the girls slept in...
so i had to actually wake them up to take them to daycare this morning.
The only good thing that came of that, was that Mady had her old friends and she was happy, and Em didn't seem to notice that i wasn't there because there was a bunch of people fawning over her and there was a room full of toys.
But then, when i thought i was going to get away happy for a while, the lady at the daycare tells me that since we have "flexible days", that they may not be able to accomodate us everyday we need.
They are filled up this year, and since we are "flexible days" we may get bumped.
So i have no idea what's going on now.
I just don't want to wake up to a phone call at 6am saying that they can't take us that day for whatever reason.
Then i'm gonna be screwed.
So i'm going to have the hubby talk to them and see what we can arrange.
Hopefully we aren't sh$t out of luck.
And then, to top off today, one of our best football players went down with, what i think, is a torn ACL.
YAY FOR ME TODAY!!
Sorry for the downer post.
Once i kick this cold, i think i will be able to start seeing the bright side of things a little better...oh, and once all this rain clears up too, it's making it a bit foggy out here, lol!

We gave it our best shot...

Well, we gave it our best shot.
We had family pictures taken today.
Out appointment was for 1pm,
so we made sure we got out of the house early and got there early too.
We took snacks and drinks so we should have been good.
But when we got there, there was another group in front of us that wasn't done yet.
So we got delayed.
And then she started out photo shoot, and had to go back out to finish with them...
so we had almost a 30min wait...
and that was the end.
We were lucky to get the few shots that we got.
Em was having nothing to do with posing, especially not without me.
That made Frank irritable, big shocker there.
So i had 2 cranky ones, and then there was Mady being a huge ham for the camera...
another big shocker there, lol!
We managed to pull off a few good shots (thanks to animal crackers and apple juice) before Em was completely done for the day.
Thank god i have 2 of the cutest kids in the world (yea, i said it, i'm totally biased!!)
so we managed to pull off some really cute shots.
I can't wait to photoshop them!!
(Now, don't worry...we ordered a ton of pictures for everyone...so you'll all have your pick in 2 weeks!)
