Alaska, day 1

Our trip to Alaska was a wonderful thing, but we had so many memories and so many pictures, that i'm going to have to recap it in different posts every day. Please bear with me.
Day 1 began with us arriving at the airport bright and early in the morning. 4am to be exact. Boy, was THAT an ordeal. Did you know that 4am is hella early?! Especially when you have a baby. But she was a trooper. But it wasn't 30min into our trip and we came across problems...surprise surprise. We got through baggage check in and we made our way up to security. We were allowed to go through the family line, since we ARE a family now, and we made it up to the front of the line...and we got stopped. We needed a boarding pass for Mady, and we didn't have one. Since she didn't have an official seat, she wasn't given a boarding pass at the original check in point, so Frank had to go all the way back down to the original check in place and wait in line there again and get her a boarding pass, then come all the way back up. After we got that mess straightened out, we went through the security line with no problems, and we went to our gate to wait for our plane.

After a 2 1/2 hour plane ride, a 40min layover in Chicago, and another 5 hour flight, we finally arrived in Vancouver.

We proceeded to our bus, and got a wonderful tour of Vancouver on the way to our ship.

After checking in to our room, we got settled for departure. Madylinn, of course, made herself right at home. She took a quick liking to the full length mirror in our room. She thought it was another baby, so she proceeded to give that "cute baby" kisses. That NEVER got old, as she did it all week long.

We finally departed from Vancouver and began our cruise.

It was a beautiful day to cruise, and we spent the majority of the day on the decks and on our balcony. Even Mady liked the balcony and the ship.
Stayed tuned for day 2 of our Alaska vacation tomorrow :)
