She's definately a melon...

Well, we've made it to week 34. Some days seem to go quicker than others. This week, baby girl is the size of a large cantalope. She is 5 lbs and about 18inches long. She doesn't kick as often anymore, since she is slowly getting less and less room in there, but her kicks are still fairly often and still very hard at times. She has learned to keep her eyes open when she is awake, and to close them when she is asleep. She can breathe on her own, she is aware of things going on around her, she can recognize mommy and daddy's voices, and she has short term memory.

Baby #1- 34 weeks

Here is my 34 week belly picture. She is definately growing straight out. Sometimes i feel (and look) like i've eaten half a watermelon, lol. She is definately very active at night. I think that's her way of telling me that i should enjoy any sleep i get now, cuz i won't be getting much in a few weeks.

We narrowed our list of names down again last night. We are now down to 6 names. That still doesn't make the decision any easier, but at least we're down a bit more. We're hoping to make a decision soon, but with the way it's going, it's bound to be a while yet. We will DEFINATELY know before she is born...i don't want any weird name changes once i go into labor. We will know who she is before the pain starts, lol.

Everything is pretty much ready for her arrival now. All the different things (ie strollers, swings, seats, etc) are put together and in their places, my hospital bag is finally packed and ready to go just in case, and we are anxiously waiting for her arrival. The only things we need now are a few containers of formula and another box of diapers...and the lamp and jumperoo we ordered from walmart.com and are having shipped to the walmart in shamokin. I'm so nervous and so excited at the same time! Sometimes it doesn't even feel real, that i'm going to be a mom...ME! If that's not a scary thought sometimes, i don't know what is. I have millions of questions that i know you can only answer having gone through the situations, and that each situation is different for each child..it's hard to accept that i can't have everything planned out and ready, i'm just going to have to wing some things. I guess that's all part of being a parent.
