What in the....

It's like 10 little toes and 2 pointy heels are digging and kicking at my ribs

OH WAIT, THERE IS!!!

Just a warning, princess, your older sister did the same exact thing, and now she has to endure the wrath of the tickle monster and the poka-poka monster whenever mommy feels it appropriate.

Just a warning!

Getting closer...

So i finally have my bag packed for the hospital.
I know, i know, what took me so long?!
With Mady, i was packed and ready to go at 7 months, lol.
But with moving, and having a 2 year old to chase around everyday, and still working, time has just flown by!
But i'm packed now.
The bag is in the trunk of my car, ready to go.
I also have a bag packed for Mady in my trunk too, just in case it's early/late and she'll need to stay at someone's house overnight.
I'm starting to feel more organized and ready for this baby...sorta.
I'm still nervous, but i think that's normal.

I've been feeling "something", but i'm not sure what it is.
For all you mom's out there, i know what you're going to say...
"If it were something, you'd know it"
Not necessarily true.
With Mady, i never felt anything.
Not a real contraction, not a fake contraction, no pressure, nothing...well, nothing until they induced me, but that's different.
I figure if it's something i need to worry about, it will start to get closer and closer together, or my water will break.
Either way, i'm sure i'll know it when the time comes...i hope!

Until then, we just play the waiting game.
I count down the days on the calendar and hope that it isn't any longer than that.
You hear that baby...NO LONGER THAN EXPECTED!!

Fun day Sunday...

So yesterday, i decided it was time we should get out and rake the leaves in our yard.
I actually started raking the leaves on Friday, but i didn't finish them all.
I saw our neighbors out raking leaves and i thought that maybe i should be out raking too. I don't know these things, i'm new to this country living stuff...i didn't know if there was a certain time you SHOULD be out raking, or what. So i started.
I got a good chunk done before i was tired.
Then Sunday i did a good chunk more.
We even got almost all of the flower bed raked out (it's pretty big).
Then we bagged all the leaves and sticks and all and took them up to the woods and dumped them.
It was a lot of work...and i mean a LOT!
And we still have a small piece of the flower bed to rake out and along the fence in the front of the house.
This country living stuff is already making me tired.
And he tells me the leaves are like 10 times worse in the fall!
AAAaaaaahhhhhhh!
Mady had fun though.
She took her wheelbarrow out and was playing and running all over the place.
So even though i was tired, after her bath, she crashed and i got to relax and watch a movie.
So it was a ton of work, but i got some much needed relaxation too.

Doctors appointment...

So i had another doctors appointment today. I'm on the weekly schedule, which means it's getting really close to time for this little girl to arrive already!
Last week when i went, i was 1/2cm dilated and 60% effaced. That was great to me, because with Mady, i don't think i was even 25% effaced on the day they induced me!
So today when i was checked, i'm only at 1cm dilated and still 60% effaced.
I'm ok with that though. Really, i am!
I still have 23 days to go until this baby is due, and with all the new guidelines and everything for babies, they say it's best if they aren't born until 39 weeks or later anyway.
And i'm not hoping for a ridiculously early baby anyway.
At this point i'm only hoping for a due date birth, that would be nice.
Not early, not late, just on time.

I also got to see baby today, which was an unexpected surprise.
Normally, you won't get an u/s during the last month.
But since Mady did a little flip during the 36th and turned breach and we had to have a version to "fix" her, they wanted to make sure 100% that this baby was in the right position...and she is.
I got to see her lungs breathing and her heart beating, which is all together different than seeing it at the 20 week u/s. It's so much more formed and real now, just just little blobs that are moving. They look like real organs now! It was great.

Potty time...

This is a TMI post...feel free to skip it if you want to...

Potty training is going really well with Mady. She definately knows when she has to go, and she isn't afraid to tell you...she also isn't afraid to tell everyone else when she DOES go (she likes to announce it to everyone in church after she comes back). Well, today she pooped on the potty on her own for the first time! She's always had the pee part down, but the poop part has always been hard for her. She would really only tell us she had to poop AFTER she had already started, and by then it was too late. So when she went into the bathroom and pooped on her own, it was a huge deal! Who would have thought that poop would be such a big deal? I just hope it continues.
We've been keeping her in big girl undies all the time now. It seems when she wears her pull ups, she's more likely to pee in them, like she knows that it's not going to make her all wet and uncomfortable in the pull ups so she can get away with it. We only put the pull ups on her for nap time, bed time and long car trips. The whole overnight thing is really hard too. How is a 2 year old supposed to wake herself up in the middle of the night when she has to pee? Apparently, the people who's kids can do that must be light sleepers, cuz my kid is like a brick when she's out. So we'll be in night time pull ups for a bit i think. One step at a time though.

Holy stuff Batman...

We are still donating stuff to the Salvation Army.
I didn't think it would take so long to get everything out of the house!
We've already taken 19 bags of clothes and shoes to them!
We only have about 2 more bags of clothes to get rid of, and then we have all the other stuff...tupperware, pots and pans, dishes, toys, stuffed animals...basically if you name it, we are probably giving it away at this point.
We're even going to put some stuff out on the porch to give away for free.
So if you know anyone that needs a desk, a tv, a chair, or pretty much any household item, give us a call and you can have it!

It's that time again...

Yep, it's about that time again. Time for me to serve the little girl living inside of me her eviction notice. As of tomorrow morning, my belly will read...

Dearest princess-to-be,
I know you are comfortable where you are at right now, i don't blame you. No random people touching you, holding you, bothering you, generally making you angry. It's really warm and cozy. All the food you can eat! But let me explain something to you, it's pretty nice out here too!
There is much more room for you to live out here. There is a beautiful new crib waiting for you. You will have 2 windows all your own that you can look out of and see tons of wildlife. There are tons of people that love you and want to hold you and make you happy and feed you lots of yummy food. I know, it's not as good as the stuff you're getting now thanks to mommy, but it will get better. I hear the cook is pretty decent. And did i mention that there's more room out here?! I hear the place you're living in now doesn't get much bigger (pity).
So this is it, girl. Your 30 day eviction notice. No more than that, do you hear me in there?! You are already causing me more pain and grief than your older sister did...i think it's time you come out and share that grief with your father.

All my love,
Your current landlord

A time to give...

We are officially in the donation phase of our moving process.
We packed up about 8 garbage bags of clothes today and took them down to the salvation army.
We are going to have tons and tons of stuff to take to the salvation army, but at least someone else will get to use it all and it won't just be going in the garbage like Frank things we should do with everything.
I labeled all the garbage bags with what was inside of them, so when we dropped them off and they went through everything, it was easier for them to know what was what. The nam there said that was the most organized drop off he's seen in quite a long time.
Hey, i guess i can be organized during pregnancy after all!

I guess beggars CAN be choosers...

So we had our yard sale on Saturday.
We did pretty good, at least in my opinion.
But we still have TONS of stuff left!
So i thought, let's call the Salvation Army and see if they want everything. They are always asking for donations and saying how they don't have that much stuff, and blah blah blah.
So we called.
And they said they won't come pick it up based on our zip code.
So basically, we have to get many many MANY car loads of stuff and drop it all off if we want to donate it.
Really, you won't pick it up?!
Tons of good quality stuff, and you won't come get it?
I guess beggars CAN be choosers after all!

Cleaning house...

So we're getting closer to being almost done cleaning out the old house. Most of the rooms are totally empty except for what we're planning on putting out for our moving sale.
Oh yes, we've finally scheduled our indoor moving sale for Saturday morning. I'm hoping that at least SOME stuff goes. I know not everything is going to sell, which is why we're going to be donating whatever is left to the Salvation Army/Red Cross/Good Will. Since most of it is still in good condition, i'm sure someone can put it to good use. One man's trash is another man's treasure...just don't tell Frank that. He is totally grossed out at the thought of giving our things away. Like we have cooties or something.
It's been tough getting rid of stuff, i won't lie. But i think we're doing a really good job. Yes, i'd love to keep 75% of the stuff we're getting rid of. But honestly, it's stuff i haven't worn in well over a year (and they say you should get rid of it if you haven't worn it in the last year), or it's things that we got and haven't touched since they day we brought it home (and some of that stuff is from when we first moved into that house and needed pretty much everything!).
Frank is having a harder time condensing than i am...go figure! I managed to pare down my clothes to fit in the closet (with the exception of my maternity clothes and my running t-shirts which will go in 2 plastic tubs in the storage room downstairs). Frank, on the other hand, is already trying to take over the girl's closets! He did that in the old house too. He starts by saying he just wants to "keep a few things in their closets until i make room", and then 2 years later it's all still there and he's ADDED things! My spoiled hubby, doesn't like any of his clothes to be touching. I guess i should get busy inventing something that will take the wrinkles out of his clothes for him...oh wait.

On a side note: his infected legs are finally getting better. They aren't totally healed yet, but they are most of the way there finally. You would think he would have learned by now to listen to me when i tell him to get something checked out. Guess we'll all see the next time!

Baby...

So i know i don't blog much about the new baby. That's my fault. But sometimes i actually forget that i'm pregnant, what with all the things going on (ie moving, work, chasing around a 2 year old). It's not usually until bedtime that i even think about it.

So here is a sort-of-update update...

Baby is currently 33 weeks 5 days along today.

We had a doctors appointment yesterday, and the doctor said everything was looking good so far. He was telling me how i need to relax, not chase Mady around as much, and how many contractions i'm allowed to feel in a day before i worry. He was also telling me things in case the baby were to come early. Really?! Early?! I'll just be happy if this baby shows up on her due date!!

We don't have another appointment for 2 weeks, but then we start having appointments every week. EVERY WEEK! That means that it's just about time, and that the baby could show up any day it wants (not like it will...i'm sure i'll have to put out another eviction notice, lol)

We have the baby's room painted, and we have the crib put together. Now we're just waiting on furniture (his dad is making it for us again, it's so much nicer). Then i can put all the things away and be totally ready...well, as ready as i'm going to be.

Mady, i think, still doesn't fully understand that there is a baby on the way to live with us forever. She gets that there is a baby in mommy's tummy, and she's felt it kick and all, but i just don't think she fully understands. Then again, how do you make a 2 year old understand something like that?!

As for names, we're still pretty unsure. We have it down to about 6 choices. I know, that sounds like a lot. Well, it's worse than you think. Basically, 3 of those names are ones i like and 3 are ones Frank likes...and the lists don't cross anywhere. It's not that i don't like his names, or that he doesn't like mine, it's just that we have our top 3's and that's that. Last time around, we had 2 of our top 5's that matched at least. So i'm not sure how this is going to work out. At least we have a few weeks to work it out.

As for me, i'm starting to feel like a Thanksgiving Day float...huge and awkward. I seem to be more belly and less other places this time around, which i'm not complaining about. But some of my maternity shirts are starting to be a bit short in the front, and that can't be good, lol. The only time i'm really bothered is at night when i'm sleeping. Having to wake up and heave your belly over your body to turn or roll over is kinda a pain, but i guess it's a small price to pay. I just tell myself that it could always be worse, and there are people out there that have it much harder than i do so i should just be thankful...and i am...when i'm awake :)

Couponing...

So i'm starting this whole new thing right now. I know, i know, it isn't really "new" new, but to me it's new. I'm going to trying couponing.

I know i've said it before, but i'm really serious this time. I'm going to look through weekly circulars, cut as many coupons as i can, try to get double coupons where i can, and even shop at more than one place to try to get deals.

I'm not going to be one of those psycho people though, i don't have time for that. I watched a show on TLC the other day about obsessed couponers. They are seriously nuts! They have their garages and pantries and god only knows where else, totally stuffed with food! I'm talking 50 jars of pasta sauce...50!! They literally have over 50 of everything. I know that's great if you use something a lot, like laundry detergent or deodorant or something, and i know these people get amazing deals on all that bulk stuff...but they are out of their minds!

Frank would have me living in the backyard in a house made out of all of my crazy bulk food and things! He already yells at me for all the food we have in the pantry, and it's all stuff we use weekly, and stuff we'll use long before it goes bad.

I'm just happy when i can save $1 on something, or when i Buy 1 Get 1 Free and i have 2 coupons so i get a great deal...but only on things that we use, that i know won't go bad before we get to them!

Update part 4...

Well, it’s been a popular phrase in our house since we’ve moved. Yup, you guessed it…”I told you so!” And it’s been me saying that to a certain spoiled rotten adult ~cough cough, Frank, cough cough~ He doesn’t like listening to me for most things, but I think he should start. Like the latest thing that’s happened. The staph infection that he had about 5ish months ago, well, it’s back. It came back through a scratch or zit or something on his face, and all he would do is peroxide it and put band aids on it. That one went away, but it didn’t go far. Now it’s all over his legs again! I told him last week that he needed to go to the doctor ASAP and get medicine for it, but NOOOOO, why would he listen to me?! Now it’s getting bad again. So I forced him to make an appointment to see the doctor and get something for it. I think once it started to get painful for him to walk, all I really had to say was “Remember how much more it hurt when we had to go to the ER and they had to dig it out”. Thank goodness that was a ton of pain, or he’d still be limping around the house.

Update part 3...

On Saturday, we went to a 5th birthday party. It was for Frank’s step niece (I think). It’s Frank’s step mom’s great-granddaughter, so I’m not 100% sure how that works out. You know what I mean now though. Anyway, it was really cute, and Mady loved playing with the other kids. She’s so social. They played some games, and I wasn’t sure how that would go over with Mady. They were mainly for older kids, and since Mady is only 2, I didn’t think she would get them, let alone actually be able to do it. But she surprised me. They played pin the tail on the donkey, and she was so cute! She kept the blind fold on the whole time, and she walked over to the donkey and tried with all her might to make the tail stick in the right place (it was just tape on the end of the tail). She was so proud of herself when she made it stick. It was so cute I wanted to hug her and cry! She is growing up so fast.

On Sunday, it was so nice out that we went out in our new backyard and played. Mady has a blast running around and playing. At the old house, we only had a tiny yard, and that was pretty much ruined by the dogs. Now at the new house, the dogs only get a small area to poop in, so Mady can run and play just about wherever she wants and doesn’t have to worry. She is in heaven. I can’t wait until spring and then summer, she is NEVER going to want to come inside! Good thing we have a huge deck and we can have cook-outs and camp fires and parties and all that. And, we’re getting a pool too, so she is really going to be thrilled! Hopefully for Easter someone will get her a sandbox (hint hint), then the yard will only need a play set, which we intend to buy her around May.

Update part 2...

So we’ve officially switched cell phone providers. We’re no longer getting ripped off! Our bill is considerably less now, and we actually get service at the new house! With our old provider, we didn’t get any service at the new house…come to think of it, we didn’t get service most of the way TO the new house. I even get service at work now, which I never did before.

We got new phones. Of course, Frank had to pick one of the most expensive phones out of the ones we were looking at. I on the other hand, went with something, well, cheap. It’s still nice, don’t get me wrong, it’s just not what I would have picked normally. But, we’re supposed to be cutting back on our spending…and as much as he thinks I’m just trying to make him feel bad, if he wants the expensive phone, I guess I’m stuck with the cheap-o one for now. Oh well. At least it does what I need it to do, that’s all that matters.

On another note, we’re still looking for an internet provider at the new house. We used to have Verizon, but they don’t service our new area. So now we’re shopping around for something that won’t cost more a month than our mortgage. So far we haven’t found anything really good, but I don’t know how much longer either of us can go without the internet. Neither of us likes to admit it, but we are both lost without it. Hopefully we’ll get that straightened out really soon, before we go crazy!

Update part 1...

We’ve officially moved into the new house. We are still in the process of unpacking, but I’m sure that will take more than just a few days to finish. Trying to weed through the things we want and don’t want, and trying to find homes for everything so our house looks more “grown up” and less like a disaster area. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I’m sure everyone knew that but me, lol.

We had a lot of help moving all our junk, I mean stuff. Thank God we did though, or we would STILL be moving! You’d be surprised at how much stuff you can accumulate in a short period of time. We leaving as much behind as we can though. I wanted to do this so we start out on the right foot, and hopefully we can stay that way. I know how it starts, we’ve been down that road before. You keep something because you think you’ll use it one day, or because you used to use it a lot and now you haven’t touched it in over a year. You say “Oh, I’ll just put it here FOR NOW and I’ll move it later” and then later comes and all you’ve managed to do it pile more junk on top of the original pile, and you end up moving the pile from corner to corner and never getting rid of anything after all. We’re not doing that in this house. Our basement is going to be finished this summer, so we’re making it into a storage room, a play room and a family room. The plan is to only put down there the things that I want to STAY down there when it’s finished, nothing more…NOTHING! This has been a really hard concept for Frank to grasp. He is as much, if not more of a hoarder than I am! He doesn’t want to get rid of anything, even things he hasn’t touched since we’ve been married!! And that’s going to be 5 years soon! Well, he either gets rids of it, or I will get rid of it while he’s at work. Either way, he’s not going to miss what he doesn’t use.
